Ecocosmetologist Henna Uusikallio
I am an ecocosmetologist and an eternal student of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture. A comprehensive and conscious approach to skin and health well-being has always called to me. My own skin problems have been challenging and still teach me to stop and find solutions within myself. Chronic symptoms arise slowly and settle deeper in the body, so there is no fashionable quick fix to treat them. My way of treating requires patience and calmness. When you want real solutions and are ready to work on yourself, I can help you :)
My own difficult skin problems actually led me to natural medicine. Even as a teenager, I was mixing masks from home kitchen ingredients, and the smell of a yeast mask will probably never leave my memories! Essential oils, herbs and Natural Cosmetics have been with me for over 20 years. I ended up becoming a cosmetologist for this reason as well, and you could say that I owe a lot to acne. I'm lucky to be able to do work that I love, work that doesn't feel like work.
Chinese medicine and acupuncture have brought a depth to my work that I have been missing. I specialize in facial acupuncture and that's what I do 90% of my working time.
Acupuncture is a very effective form of treatment, but I also want to combine it with herbal medicine if necessary. In China, herbal medicine and dietary therapy have been the primary form of treatment. Certain ailments are difficult to treat with acupuncture alone, but they also require herbs. In Finland, many herbs from Chinese medicine are prohibited, and on the other hand, getting pure plants from China is not easy either. Wild nutrition food grown vitamins and Living nutrition fermented herbal probiotics have brought a solution to my own work. Nutrients that are completely natural and have strong Qi, i.e. energy, are for me the best herbal medicine to support acupuncture. I use Chinese medicine diagnostics to select the appropriate preparations and the results have been very good.
I am currently studying at the Academy of Chinese Medicine for the next 3 years. I have also studied at Neijing School in Helsinki for 3.5 years. I have been doing facial acupuncture since 2009 and have already done more than 2000 treatments! I have been studying western herbal medicine in the teachings of Henriette Kress for a few years. I have tried to live an original and down-to-earth life. As a sensitive person, I need my own time and peace.
I have lived in the country in the middle of the forest by the lake for almost ten years with a cat and horses. Caring for animals is a big part of my everyday life. The horses make sure that I get a lot of fresh air and contact with nature every day. My horses live in their own cabin in the forest and are allowed to go in and out freely. They move around a lot in their big enclosure and are happy. I dream of being self-sufficient, but at the moment there is only a small selection of easy vegetables and herbs growing in the garden. I am lucky to get organically grown food from nearby farms all year round.
Vegetarian diet has been my choice since I was a child. I feel great compassion for animals and eating animals seems like a strange idea. I believe that humanity is slowly moving towards a plant-based diet. It is ecological and ethical and enables the advancement of people's spiritual development.
My dream is to use Soil of Beauty to bring understanding, compassion and peace to people.
